Baseball and Marketing have a lot in common
I am a baseball fan and I run a marketing and communications company. I see a lot of similarities between the two. The goal of baseball is to score runs. The goal of marketing is to lead your customer to a sale. When marketing is working right, it assists your sales staff much like a catcher’s mitt helps a player catch a baseball. You wouldn’t want to try to catch a 100 mph fastball without it, would you? Neither should you try to make a sale without marketing. Sales and marketing should work hand in glove. Do you see the similarities?
