Take a tour of the downtown area of Indianapolis to learn the significance of the Circle City to the Civil War. Meet President Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, as they make one of their stops in Indianapolis. This is a one-mile walking tour that encompasses Monument Circle, the State House and the steps of Abraham Lincoln.
$25 per person. Children 12 and under free with an adult.

1825 Battlefield Rd, Perryville, KY 40468
Join Kevin Yaney as he leads a tour of the largest Civil War battle in Kentucky. Fought in October 8, 1862, the Battle of Perryville became a crucial fight to keep Kentucky in the Union. The tour includes:
- Admission to the Perryville Battlefield Museum and a film about the Battle
- A guided walking tour of the grounds where Indiana regiments fought, including Central Indiana soldiers
- Tour of the National Cemetery at Camp Nelson, the final resting place of the fallen Federal soldiers from the Battle of Perryville
- Lunch is provided
$70 per adult.
*This is an OUTDOOR WALKING tour over hills and uneven ground. Plan accordingly.
CEMETERY TOURS
July 18, 10:00 a.m. – West Maplewood, Anderson, Indiana • 283 Alexandria Pike, Anderson, IN 46012 — This old cemetery is the final resting place of many Madison County Civil War veterans as well as others who moved to the area after the war. From surgeons to musicians, West Maplewood is rich in Civil War history. *This is an OUTDOOR WALKING tour. Cost – $10 for adults. Kids under 12 are free if accompanied by an adult.
September 19 (time TBD) – Riverside Cemetery, Noblesville, Indiana • 195 South Fifth Street, Noblesville, IN 46060 — Historic Riverside Cemetery is where you will find 75 Civil War veterans laid to rest. Hear about the Hoosier state’s involvement in the war and learn about some of the Hamilton County residents who took up arms to preserve the Union. *This is an OUTDOOR WALKING tour. Cost – $10 for adults. Kids under 12 are free if accompanied by an adult.
November 7 (time TBD) – Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville, Indiana • 1776 Monument Street, Noblesville, IN 46060 — Honor Veterans Day by learning more about the history of the men and women who helped shape Noblesville. Learn about the canon that resides in Crownland Cemetery, the monument to the Unknown Soldiers, along with many more pieces of Hamilton County’s Civil War past. *This is an OUTDOOR WALKING tour. Cost – FREE
